Add devices using the batch import

Guide to using the Batch Import

 You can choose to upload a batch of devices at once to your client account lather than use the Add Asset Wizard which done one device after the other.

Preliminaries

a.       Group all your devices according to client accounts in separate csv files with the following details.

make sure the column headers are as shown below

  15. AllowedOverspeedPercentage
  16. ExcessiveIdle

 

b.      Ensure that the file(s) is/are in a valid CSV file with the sample format below

c.       Create all the clients accounts on the platform

 

d.      Configure the devices using SMS if the devices are in vehicles or fields already or if it is new devices you can use the manufacturer device terminal or tool.

Note: Part (d) above can be done before or after the import.

 

Follow the steps below :

A. Click on Admin and select Batch Import tab


 B.

1. Select the client you need to add the devices to.

2. select the deactivation date

3. Choose which groups this vehicle should show under

4. Choose the file (csv) that contains the devices that correspond to the client and group selected in (1) and (2) above

5. Select the Gps Tracking device you are using

6. Click the Upload csv

 

C. The upload process will start while logging the state of every record inserted as successful

Or failed

D. At completion, a pop screen will spring up quoting the overall state of the import

 

E.If some device failed to meet the standard of importation. You are told how many were successful

 

F. For the failed device you can download the error log. You can correct and repeat the processes above.
