Connecting Digital Matter Devices to the Platform via Connector
✅ 1. How to Create a Flexi TCP Connector
-
Open Device Manager.
-
Go to Connectors (left menu).
-
Click the New button.
-
Give the connector a name (e.g., My Flexi TCP Server).
-
For Connector Type, select:
➤ Flexi TCP Connector
-
Choose your Distributor / Vendor / Client if required.
-
Click OK to create the connector.
After creating it:
-
Open Device Manager.
-
Go to Connectors.
-
Select your new Flexi TCP Connector.
-
Click Edit.
Under Settings, make sure:
✔ “Use TLS” is NOT checked
(this ensures the device sends normal, readable TCP data)
-
Click OK to save.
❓ Why Turn Off TLS?
-
When Use TLS is ON, the device sends encrypted data which is not the standard data as per the Digital Matter plaintext protocol
-
When Use TLS is OFF, the device sends the expected standard Flexi TCP data to the server
✅ 3. Apply the Connector to Your Device
-
Go to Devices.
-
Open your device.
-
Under Connector, select the Flexi TCP Connector you just created.
-
Save and Send Parameters (or reboot the device).
Lastly, add the device to the Platform, then monitor its connection status. Once the device shows as ‘Connected’ and ‘Committed’ on the Digital Matter platform, data should be received on WLT Platform.
