How to visualize fuel on the platform

How to Read Fuel Data in the Platform

This guide explains how to view and interpret fuel data from your vehicles

1. Viewing Current Fuel Level (Live Map)

Image

Steps:

  1. Go to Map

  2. Select your vehicle from the list

  3. Click on the vehicle to open the info panel

What You’ll See:

  • Fuel Level (e.g., 32.75 L) → This is the current fuel in the tank

  • Displayed in litres (L)

Tip:

  • This value updates based on the fuel sensor installed in the vehicle, and can also read Cabus data

  • Small fluctuations can happen due to movement or terrain

2. Viewing Fuel Analytics (Graphs)

Steps:

  1. Go to Asset Info

  2. Select your vehicle

  3. Click on the Fuel tab

Understanding the Graph:

  • Downward Line (↘) → Fuel consumption while driving

  • Sharp Upward Jump (↑) → Fuel refill

  • Sudden Drop (↓) → Possible fuel drain/theft

Key Metrics Explained:

  • Distance → Total distance traveled

  • Current Fuel → Remaining fuel

  • Fuel Used → Total consumed

  • Consumption (km/L) → Efficiency

  • Drains → Detected fuel losses

  • Refills → Number of refueling events

3. Fuel Events (Refills & Drains)

Refills Section:

  • Shows:

    • Date & time

    • Location

    • Fuel added (litres)

  • Example:

    • Fuel increased from 127 L → 392 L

    • Refilled 264 L

Drains Section:

  • Shows any abnormal fuel drops

  • Useful for detecting:

    • Theft

    • Leakages

4. Fuel Reports

Steps:

  1. Go to Reports

  2. Search for Fuel

  3. Choose a report:

Available Reports:

  • Sensor / Fuel / Temperature

    • Raw sensor readings over time

  • Fuel Trip Listing Report

    • Fuel usage per trip

  • Fuel Summary Report

    • Overall fuel performance

5. Important Notes

  • Fuel accuracy depends on:

    • Sensor quality

    • Proper calibration

  • Sudden spikes or drops may be caused by:

    • Poor calibration

    • Vehicle tilt (e.g., hills)

  • Always compare:

    • Graph data

    • Report data

    • Actual refueling records
